Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra - Curious Creatures & The Natural World: Relaxed Performance

  • Westlands Entertainment Venue Westbourne Close Yeovil, England, BA20 2DD United Kingdom (map)

Join us for this symphonic venture through the natural world, through verdant forests and across the open ocean. Embrace the wild with a catchy Mancini tune and a spirited piece by Elgar. We follow the ocean through all moods with Grace Williams, from sailing tempestuous seas to enjoying the beautiful calm of a summer’s day at the beach. And enjoy orchestral adaptation of popular work by Bjork with music that delves into emotions of the heart through the crystallisation of minerals and rocks. William Grant’s soft exploration of twilight and Vaughan William’s musical flight of the lark complete the programme.

This is a Relaxed Performance – especially designed for anyone who would prefer a more relaxed environment. This will include higher lighting than for a traditional concert audience, a relaxed attitude to noise – anyone is welcome to express themselves however they feel comfortable, open doors throughout the performance for anyone to leave and re-enter at any point, and is presented by BSO Associate Zoe Palmer. Recommended for children aged 4+

Rimsky-Korsakov: Flight of the Bumblebee
Björk: Crystalline
de Falla: Ritual Fire Dance
Mancini: Baby Elephant Walk
Williams: Sea Sketches, I. High Wind
Vaughan Williams: The Lark Ascending
