Almost 2,300 pupils and teachers poured in from across Devon to take part in our annual ‘Explore the Orchestra’ schools’ concerts at the University of Exeter on Friday 30 January.

On Monday 20 October, we welcomed the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Chorus to the Royal Albert Hall, alongside a host of star classical soloists, for a special edition of Classic FM Live. A quarter of a century since our first concert, the orchestra performed celebratory hits from Handel’s Zadok the Priest, the first piece ever played on Classic FM, to Vivaldi’s ‘Winter’, a much-loved favourite performed by violinist Esther Abrami.

We’re very proud of our Calleva Assistant Conductor Enyi Okpara who recently made Classic FM’s 30 under 30 list. The prestigious list shines a light on 30 musicians under the age of 30 who are changing the classical music landscape.

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) announces Enyi Okpara as its Calleva Assistant Conductor for the 2024/25 concert season.
