ONAP brings together clarinetist Yom and cellist Camille Thomas around a universal message of peace. Under the direction of Enyi Okpara, this concert unveils a creation by Fabien Cali, composer in residence, who deploys the duo's universe on a symphonic scale. Between klezmer heritage and oriental music, this work pushes the boundaries of the classical concerto and invites the audience to take part in a collective meditation outside of dogmas.

Peace Meditation" is the culmination of several years of collaboration between cellist Camille Thomas and composer and clarinetist Yom, which began at the time of the war in Ukraine, with a piece composed by Yom for Camille Thomas called "Prayer for Peace", played by Camille as a Solo and then as a duet with Yom. 

Yom offers here a composition culturally seeking as much on the side of Eastern and Central Europe (himself coming from klezmer music) as oriental or Middle Eastern music typical of his unique clarinet playing. 

Drawing on the concerto's ancestral formal codes, including its three movements and its exclusively orchestral overture, "Peace Meditation" nevertheless pushes its boundaries, exploring unusual orchestral territories such as a sung audience participation, an unusual use of the clarinet in Western art music, and a dialogue between cultures that challenges us in our dogmas and beliefs.
